Too lazy to write up my own post, so I’ll just link to plumtreeblossom’s post about our weekend on Cape Cod. (I will add that I actually love the weather here, it’s got that sort of pre- or post-storm energy I really love, and it’s warm enough that the slight intermittent drizzle is pleasant.)

He doesn’t read LJ on a regular basis, and I wished him happy birthday in one of the outer circles of the Inferno on Facebook earlier today, but I can’t let the day go buy without wishing a very happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] surrealestate’s wonderful partner DD here as well.

Hi. First of all, on Thursday [livejournal.com profile] plumtreeblossom and I saw The Yeomen of the Guard put on by the MIT Gilbert and Sullivan Players, and it was a rolicking good time.

Then yesterday (Saturday) we went to see the Boston Ballet. Aside from The Nutcracker, this was the first time I’d seen ballet live, and I loved it, as did [livejournal.com profile] plumtreeblossom. They performed three pieces. More about the performances. )

We got relatively affordable tickets through MIT, but I think they may have us hooked. (“Psst! Hey, kids, wanna see a ballet? All the cool kids are doing it! First one’s free!”)

Then today we helped [livejournal.com profile] surrealestate and DD move to their new condo. (Well, and Julian moved too, but he wasn’t really carrying his weight. Kid’s a slacker — he didn’t even help with the chest freezer!) Their new place is much closer to [livejournal.com profile] plumtreeblossom’s, and is really nice. I’m looking forward to having them a bit more conveniently located. They had a lot of people helping and everything they were planning to move got moved in good time.

Then tonight were tryouts for PMRP’s summer live radio drama trilogy. I’m trying out for voice rôles this time (after doing a lot of Foley); [livejournal.com profile] plumtreeblossom is trying out for both voice and Foley. That was fun, and we’ll see what happens.

Life is good.

And now it’s 11:30pm and I’m home and really tired (physical labour will do that to you), and it’s just barely conceivable that I will be asleep before midnight for a change.

Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] surrealestate, who has brought many wonderful things into my life, but none more wonderful than [livejournal.com profile] plumtreeblossom[livejournal.com profile] surrealestate is how we met.

[livejournal.com profile] surrealestate, I hope you really enjoyed your birthday present, even though it was about a week early. I bet you will get lots of enjoyment out of him! Properly cared for, he can last a lifetime. :-) And I hear you have a late birthday present coming, too...

Thanks for being a part of my life, [livejournal.com profile] surrealestate! You’re a delight, and I hope you’re having a wonderful birthday.

(Sorry for poor formatting; I appear to have lost the ability to type angle brackets on my phone.)

Went out to Western Mass with plumtreeblossom this weekend to attend the wedding of surrealestate and DDL. (Much of it, at any rate — for complicated reasons I ended up making myself useful with cupcakes during the actual ceremony.) We had a great time, and it was wonderful to meet so many of their family members, and it was nifty to get to break in the new car with a long trip. (Although I should get the brakes looked at.)

surrealestate and DDL, we love you, and we were so happy to see you so happy and to get to celebrate your life together!

Had a fabulous night last night! Went to [livejournal.com profile] jadia's birthday dinner — happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] jadia! —, which was delightful, three tables full of happy MITniks make a happy [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit.

Then I swung by [livejournal.com profile] plumtreeblossom's to pick her up and we went to a fab party at [livejournal.com profile] pheromone's (and sorry for not shouting out to her housemate; I don't know his LJ name). Oh, my, that was amazing. I danced, which never happens. (Well, if you can call what I was doing dancing.) I even danced alone when Rasputin came on. And I snuggled with lots of awesome people, got to reconnect with Dreaming, whom I haven't gotten to see much of since he's been busy with school, got to check out [livejournal.com profile] joyeous' lovely tats, and generally had a fabulous time. Oh, and the coconut rum got the 'Wabbit Seal of Approval. Wow, [livejournal.com profile] pheromone throws a wonderful party. (And it was awesome to see her, too!)

Believe it or not, [livejournal.com profile] plumtreeblossom and I were too tired when we got home around 4:00am! I must say, it's been a lovely morning.
