Homeownership woes

Had an adventure on Saturday, but $500.00 and five hours later I had working plumbing again. (Bad clog + vigorous plunging = busted seals. Oops!) I haven’t yet thrown out all the stuff in the basement that got destroyed. The plumbers were very efficient.

Other than that, though, it was a lovely weekend! Got to spend lots of time with darling plumtreeblossom, got to spend a fair amount of time outside in lovely weather, and am doing well.

Second the snake idea.
Didn't know old seals would
give way that quickly.

Thanks! I don’t know about “that quickly”, it had been a little prone to minor leakage since I bought the house, and I have no idea how old the wax ring was. (The sewer pipe itself is old enough that the joints are sealed with rope soaked in tar.)
