Two things

Thing the First:
docorion and I finally got the moving pod cleared out today! Yay! Is very exciting. Now I just need to figure out what to do with all the stuff. Getting around in my bedroom and my office does not so much involve walking as looking around for a safe place that I can reach to put a foot.
Thing the Second: I was feeling somewhat experimental in the shower today. I’d been meaning to try this for quite a while, and I finally actually did it today:

So today is the first day I haven’t had a mustache since the summer between my junior and freshman years in college, i.e., since 1985. It’s kind of hard to see what it’s going to look like, because try as I might I couldn’t get rid of the 5-o’clock-shadow look where the mustache used to be, and because my beard and hair are very short now, so there isn’t much contrast. Anyway, if I decide to keep the shaved upper lip, I’ll probably go with a smaller but longer beard (sort of like
chillguru’s) Or maybe I’ll skip the beard altogether, although I’m kind of attached to having some facial hair.
There are two reasons I wore the beard and mustache: I like them on other people, and I’m extremely lazy. (There were also two other reasons I originally grew them out in 1985 that aren’t so relevant any more: they made me look older, and they helped hide zits.) It remains to be seen how happy I am without the mustache, but I figured it was worth the experiment. (My short hair was originally an experiment, too.)
Comments welcome. Given how short my hair and beard are, it wouldn’t take long to grow back a wisp of a mustache to match the beard. :-)

Date: 2006-02-20 10:00 (UTC)that said.. i also have fond longer-haired memories of you. probably not waist-length, but i remember it being around shoulder length (?) and liking it a lot. but that's just me... i have had the experience lately of deciding that some people just look better with their hair guy-length-short. but those are pretty few and pretty far between...

Date: 2006-02-20 16:37 (UTC)I tend to be a largish fan of no or little facial hair, as it tends to get in the way of my lips. But this depends entirely upon my relationship to said person, and some people, of course, look extremely hot with facial hair.
Yay for experimentation!

Date: 2006-02-20 17:47 (UTC)(This is not to say that you weren't ALREADY hot... you're now just a different kinda hot.)
I like the look especially because it makes your nose more of a central feature (ok, that just sounded stupid... um... it gives your nose more FOCUS, I guess), and you have a very, very pretty nose.

Date: 2006-02-20 18:54 (UTC)Now I feel like I need to draw a little face on the tip of my nose. :-) Maybe with teeny-tiny little glasses and a serious expression, so it looks like it has a lot of focus.
I think the nose being a central feature probably has a lot to do with the lack of glasses in that picture, as well as the lack of mustache. I like wearing contact lenses, but the particular kind I have now are very hard to manage. Need to make an appointment at the eye doctor’s...
(I have a similar reaction to your current default userpic: It’s very hot, but it looks very different from how I remember you looking in person.)

Oy. I just... *shakes her head* I have nothing to say to that. You are goof and a half. (Delightfully so.)

I think the conditions under which it was taken (*cough*post-coital*cough*) give it a considerably more zenned-out look than I usually have. Plus, I don't usually look quite so naked.
