Dangerous new toy

No, not that kind of toy. My brand new Mac Mini finally arrived yesterday.

I didn't get a chance to even turn it on yesterday, due to working late and having a lovely dinner and catching-up with the ever-delightful purrfab, but today I took it in to work so I could putter around with it while I was doing other things — it’s small enough that I could put it in my backpack if I wanted to, but I just carried it in the lunchbox-sized box it came in — and set it up.Then after work but before I came home I loaded it up with useful software.

I’m having fun.

It finally came! What took it so long? You ordered that thing ages ago. Mmmm, it's going to be lots of fun.

Well, it was going to arrive while I was in Hawai‘i, so I called and had them delay it, and the only reliable way to do that was to place it as a new order, which meant it got delayed more than strictly necessary. But while I was at it I bumped up the RAM from the original order. And had them ship it to work instead of to my home, which would have obviated the problem in the first place. It’s all very complicated.
