Once upon a time, a long time ago, somebody told me about a company on-line that sold turntable needles. This particular company evidently was very helpful via email, e.g., I could send them email saying what kind of turntable I had and expect them to be able and willing to tell me what kind of needle to order. Unfortunately I have no idea where I jotted that information down. If it was you, or if you know a company like that (or a local place for somebody who knows nothing about turntables to get needles), could you let me know? Thanks!

It wasn't me, but a Google search on "phonograph needles" turned up this company as the top selection. They look, from their front page, like they'd be pretty helpful. If you can't find the maker or model, you can just email them a jpeg of your player.

Is that monitor in fact an Apple McIntosh from the same era?

That reminds me of an abandoned project that I should take up again --- turning all of my vinyls from the 50s and 60s (mostly obscure folk singers like Richard Dyer-Bennet and Cynthia Gooding) to digital. I had mixed success but have forgotten how I achieved that and will probably have to start over.

Let me know how it goes (and how you go about it).

yeah. My next project is turning the reel-to-reel tapes (not stereo, but double-sided!) of my dad and his brothers growing up, into digital format. Heh.
