You can’t, if by “hook your laptop to it” you mean use the keyboard and screen of your laptop on it. But USB keyboards and mice are pretty cheap, and if you asked for a monitor on your LJ or craigslist you might find somebody with a spare one, since it costs people money to have CRT monitors hauled away.

i will wait until my school money comes in. and maybe if i can't get a flat screen (which i'd prefer) i'll just order one.
