quick update

Just got back from a much longer than expected and much more eventful than expected trip to NYC to pick up Kala. The short of it is that on Saturday (while I was on my way down to pick her up) she discovered she was going to have to more-or-less immediately move out of the room she’d just moved in to (for reasons that had nothing to do with her; she just happened to be collateral damage from other stuff going on in the house). That prompted me staying over, since obviously she had stuff that had to get done before she could come up to visit. Then Sunday things got resolved such that she can probably stay. So the end result is relief, but it was a very eventful weekend, in the “may you live in interesting times” way.

Anyway, back now, and I have a wonderful (and much more relaxed than yesterday) Kala with me.
