Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] greenfizzpops (and [livejournal.com profile] nex0s, who got it from her) for this link (http://www.buyblue.org/bluexmas.html) to a table of companies that donate Republican and companies that donate Democratic. *Sigh*, I’m going to need to find a new steak house. There’s an Outback that’s very convenient on my way home from work. Unsurprised about a lot of the companies, though. For instance, I knew Costco treated their employees very well and was sort of the antithesis of Wal-Mart. I’m unsurprised that their political contributions are also antithetical to Wal-Mart’s.

[Edit: If you stop shopping someplace because of their political contributions to the Repugnant Party, you might want to drop them a note to that effect. My guess is that most of these companies see political contributions as business expenses more than as a matter of ideology. Wal-Mart isn’t going to stop contributing to Republicans, because their core business model is tied in with Republican divide-and-conquer strategies of subjugation, but I’m sure many of the other companies would happily reduce their conservative contributions if they started to look like a net liability rather than a net asset.]
