There’s lots of important stuff going on in my life, but not a whole lot of time on LJ to talk about it. (I haven’t been keeping up as well as I’d like.) I’m composing this on the train in my way to meet [livejournal.com profile] plumtreeblossom for a movie, ’cause that’s likely to be my only chance for a bit.

Two very important news snippets:

(1) [livejournal.com profile] plumtreeblossom got a job! Yay! See her journal.

(2) In late June she and I are going down to North Carolina to see [livejournal.com profile] bcat1 and [livejournal.com profile] spacechicken’s new babies! Yay! It has to be a super-short visit because [livejournal.com profile] plumtreeblossom can’t take any time off her new job, but we get to meet the niece and nephew!

In general, life is going well. I’m feeling overbusy and undersocialized, but most of the stuff my life is full with is good. The new job is still exciting and good. (Unfortunately I slept late today and missed the bulk of a crisis that [livejournal.com profile] bubblebabble ended up having to deal with, though.)

My house is not treating me very well (or more to the point it’s not treating my housemate [livejournal.com profile] toranin very well, since he’s in the room that (1) gets super hot and (2) appears to have no outlets he can plug an A/C into without tripping a circuit breaker, at least during the day). But generally life is good.

Have I mentioned lately that I love my honeywuzzle?

Hot, Hot Housemate

As I recall, you have no AC anywhere in your house. It looks, though, as if your night-time lows are pretty good, at least right now.

Does your friend have a window in his bedroom? [I can’t recall if there might be a small, high one.] Where I live, box fans cost between $15 and $25. Three of them would allow you to put one at a 1st-floor window as an intake at night, one at the foot of the stairs going up to his room, and one either aimed out his window or blowing more or less on him as he sleeps, depending on his pleasure. [I like the direct breeze; Don doesn’t]. If his room has a window, that would allow the hot air to escape. [Otherwise, it would have to fend for itself.]

His room would cool to outside temps, and should keep him comfy for all but the worst nights in August. An added bonus would be that the 1st floor heat would also vent and leave everything cooler in the morning, when you would close up and cherish your night-time air until sundown the next evening, when you would do it all over again.

Hugs to that pretty lady.
