I am a happy ’wabbit!

So a few months ago I read Stiff: The Curious History of Human Cadavers, by the smart, funny, and irreverent Mary Roach. I loved it.

Today, on my way home from dropping [livejournal.com profile] plumtreeblossom off at her house, I overheard on NPR that Mary Roach had a new book out about the science of sex. It’s called Bonk.

You can bet I placed an order as soon as I got home.

Don't forget her other book, Spook, an inquiry into the scientific basis of ghosts and the afterlife. I just picked it up, and it's very nifty.

See, there we differ. That sort of thing is exactly my bailiwick. But I think even someone with little interest in the paranormal might enjoy Spook.

That was [livejournal.com profile] cathijosephine who made you read it. I haven't read it. :-)

I liked Spook, but not nearly as much as Stiff. I had the same reaction as [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit when I heard about Bonk, though I haven't ordered it yet :)

Stiff is one of my FAVORITE nonfiction books! I recommend it often!!! I also read her book "Spook".

I shall have to purchase Bonk ASAP!!!

I thought it was OK, but that Stiff was much better.

It was amusing, but a bit "eh".

Sounds good indeed, but sadly the reviews are pretty lousy on bn.com. I look forward to hearing from you whether the reviews are wrong.

Uh, duh, make that one single poor review on BN, and many positive reviews on Amazon.

Ooh! Yay!
