I agree, His Dark Materials would have been a far better choice.

Criticizing lists like this is the easiest thing in the world, but still:

Having a hard time seeing either The Sword of Shannara or any of the Covenant books here. They've already got Lord of the Rings, no point including the cheap knockoffs.

No Phantom Tollbooth? Feh.

And seriously: the Foundation books, but not I, Robot?? That's just cracked.
