So last night I seem to have taken off my CPAP mask in my sleep; I woke up at about 7 and it was whooshing on the pillow next to me.
How I feel makes it clear that that’s not a good idea.
(I did put it back on and go back to sleep from 7:30 to 8:30, and I don’t know when during the night I took it off, so I don’t feel quite like I used to before getting the CPAP, but I can definitely tell.)

Date: 2006-10-26 13:59 (UTC)Have you had the surgery talk with your Dr.? I had my sleep study about 12-13 years ago and the outcome was sleep apnea. We went over both CPAP and surgery options and I opted for the surgery. I might have had a regret during the two week convalescence but none since. The downside is it's surgery and that always carries a risk. The upside for me has been no snoring unless sick, no sore throat as there is no uvula or tonsils to get irritated, and the ability to finally breath through my nose. Actually the one downside is when I swim I need nose plugs or I take on water like a sinking submarine. That one got me the first time and was quite a shock.
So the uPPP surgery as I beleive it's called was remove uvula, tonsils and chop the palette at the back of the mouth to open the nasal pathway. They did not do a deviated septum as mine was simply a polyp and would just grow back.
I believe the big winner in all of this are the (un)fortunate people to have (not)slept around my snoring. =)
*cheers*
