Me[n] in skirts!

I’m kind of behind on posting this; almost everybody on my Friends list has probably already seen this announced, but my friend ragingamazon has made a Men in Skirts¹ calendar, and Yours Truly is proud to be Miss April. (Links are work-safe, although a few of the cuties are bare-chested.) Get yours while supplies last!² (And most of the other models are friends of mine.)

(Back when ragingamazon and I first did the photoshoot, I meant to post a few of the pictures. Maybe this will nudge me to actually get around to doing that.)

I like it that your picture doesn't say, "I may be wearing a skirt, but I'm TOUGH, damn it," the way some of the other guys do. You even have the guts to wear *gasp* color and *double gasp* flowers. :-)

Mr. February seems like he's trying the hardest at this, but Mr. March is photographed next to pipes and dirty barrels (very manly, don't you know :-)), Mr. August is photographed working on his car, and Mr. December is photographed with construction equipment. I just had to laugh! Yes, yes, you all still have cocks under those skirts; we believe you. Sheesh.

Still fun, though.

Is your pose meant to convey "I am a computer guru"?

I like it that your picture doesn't say, "I may be wearing a skirt, but I'm TOUGH, damn it," the way some of the other guys do.

That was actually kind of ragingamazon’s concept, actually; she wanted men not being femme in skirts, and not wearing them as drag. Fortunately for me, she realized I just couldn’t pull the butch thing off. :-)

And to some extent she wanted people to be doing things that symbolized their daily lives; that’s why she wanted me to bring my laptop (and why she posed me with random computery props).

The pose where I’m crosslegged was actually after she felt like she’d gotten all the pictures she wanted for the calendar, and was taking pictures at my suggestion. I sat cross-legged in this little metal cage thing, and she said “Wait! Wait! Stay like that!” and got my laptop and had me turn my hands up to look more Buddha-like. So yes, it was, but it was sort of a serendipitous juxtaposition.

My first inclination for that pose was to get a full-body shot that would fit comfortably in a 100x100-pixel square. :-)

*laugh* Martial arts equipment, rusty pipes, construction equipment, and car repair aren't just "not femme;" they're seriously butch. I sort of thought there was a nice middle ground in between butch and femme, the ground that most of my friends inhabit, in fact. :-)

Still, I thank you for the information. It makes me feel less worried for the gender security of the men involved. :-)
