So last night was closing night of Tomes of Terror III, and it was just a wonderful experience for me getting back on stage for the first time in over twenty years. The play I was in, a loose adaptation of Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart”, was directed by first-time director
big_jewfro, who did a wonderful job and was a delight to work with. And
plumtreeblossom did foley (live sound effects) for that play as well as one of the two others in the show, so I got to work with her again (and everybody else in the green room was in desperate need of insulin). And it was great working with
lediva, my unfortunate onstage victim. And since every night was sold out, about 320 people in the greater Boston area now associate my voice with extreme creepiness. :-)
Strike was easy and quick and the cast party (at
big_jewfro and
lediva’s place) was lots of fun, although I was a bit tired for it.
ayelle’s trifle was especially yummy!
The one bad thing is that there was a cold floating around the green room, and I seem to have picked it up. It’s not too bad so far, and I expect to get to bed early tonight and hopefully that will be enough to keep it from taking hold.
