Door!

OK, not quite as inspiring a cry as Spoon!, but still, thanos73 now has a door on his room! Less than a year after I bought this house, the second-floor bedroom already has a door! And it only cost me one blister and two burns! I am homeowner, hear me roar.

In other delightful news, I got to see dahling and meet her twin sister (whose LJ name, if she has one, I don’t know) at Namaskar for yummy Indian dinner yesterday, and then got to hang out with other good folks at the Diesel for a bit.

plumtreeblossom will be here shortly; I desperately need a shower first. (I am drenched in sweat, with a light dusting of sawdust.)

Step one: Put small hole saw on drill.

Step two: Drill hole in edge of door for sliding catch.

Step four: Remove small hole saw from drill.

Step five: Put large hole saw on drill.

Step six: drill larger hole through door for doorknob.

What’s missing here?

Oh, yeah!

Step three: Wait for BURNING HOT SMALL HOLE SAW to cool down before grasping it between thumb and forefinger. I knew there was something I forgot!

Ah, I later figured it was probably something like that. Hole saws do get really hot, because there's basically nowhere for the heat to go.
