“... all my troubles seemed so far away!” Actually, yesterday was lovely. Spring returned after a few days’ absence, and I slept late and spent some time unpacking and tidying up. Then I had a lovely time with
cathijosephine and
darxus watching V for Vendetta at the local second-run movie theater and having dinner at my house (crockpot Kalua pig, which I expect to be making a lot of), after which
cathijosephine stayed to watch one of her favourite movies with me, There’s No Business Like Show Business
Tonight I’m going to be in my first photo shoot, for a “Men in Skirts” project that
ragingamazon is doing.

Date: 2006-06-14 17:50 (UTC)I understand (from Wikipedia’s articles on the comic and the movie) that Alan Moore was unhappy with the way the book was turned into a movie. In particular, he felt like it was inappropriate to co-opt a graphic novel written as a response to Thatcherism and turn it into a movie that seems more directly a response to the Bush régime (but that is still set in England, and so mutes its criticism of the buds of US totalitarianism). But I loved the book, and loved the movie, and felt like the movie was reasonably true to the spirit of the book. I wish everybody in North America, Europe, and Russia would see the movie.
