Food, company, and noses

Would love to go on at more detail about most of this stuff, but have to shower and run off to work.

On Friday I went to a wonderful if not inexpensive Moroccan restaurant in Charlestown, Tangierino (beware of slow-loading Flash) with [livejournal.com profile] cathijosephine, her friend from California [livejournal.com profile] almostsamantha (who is Moroccan and chatted with the waiter a lot about food), and [livejournal.com profile] almostsamantha’s friend D. from Northampton. The food and the wine were both spectacular. They’d better have been, since it took us over an hour to get there. We were almost there — I mean, within a block! —, but a couple of street signs in a row (both with the same street name on them) were turned, so I thought I was on the wrong street! And the vagaries of Boston highways and one-way streets and my navigation ability meant that I ended up in Revere before I managed to get back where I was supposed to be and realize it was actually the right street. [livejournal.com profile] almostsamantha and D. who were following, were very patient.

Friday I felt a bit like I was coming down with something, so I went home after dinner (while the others went off to a piano bar and stayed up till 12). Saturday I felt like I was just getting over something, and I slept a lot. Sunday I went to the Bi Brunch with [livejournal.com profile] cathijosephine, who was taking a break from work where she has a deadline coming up. Small but lots of fun. Then Sunday evening I went over to my good friend [livejournal.com profile] chienne_folle’s house for dinner. She gave me a pocket watch! Well, sort of a pocket watch; it has a loop that clips onto one’s belt. Nifty! I don’t wear watches because I can’t stand the feel of them on my wrist, but this I can wear. I carried a pocket watch for a while, but the ticking was too loud; this one is very quiet.

Today I’m feeling mostly great, with one huge exception. My left nostril feels like there’s a beachball in there, and it’s being inflated and has already squashed my brain and my head is about to pop. But other than that I feel fine. :-) Does anybody know why it is that when you’re stuffy you feel like you can’t think?

Shower, then drugstore, then work.

Edited to add: And I am reading the first three Series of Unfortunate Events books in preparation for seeing the movie on Thursday.

ETA: I my neti pot!

Hugs and Kisses!

You're so fabulous for doing all that driving and not getting mad at me!

It was wonderful to meet you, and the food was indeed fabulous. Also, no worries about the lost thing, the journey is half the fun, plus it made the evening more interesting, and the food that much more appreciated.

Yes, she has been persuading me to do that since she moved.
Now that I have been there, I can't say the idea isn't extremely appealing.

It was great seeing you. Every time I see you, I find myself thinking "More Jay!" :-)

I'm sorry to hear that you feel unpleasantly stuffy; I hope that passes soon!

Hugs,
