You know you're in Kentucky when:
(1) the airport food court has not one, but two smoking areas,
(2) they're open to the rest of the food court,
(3) that's where the vending machines are, and
(4) there are more people in the smoking areas than in all the rest of the food court.

I remember my surprise when, on one of my first visits to Kentucky three years ago, I went with a bunch of people to a Denny's, and we asked to be seated in the non-smoking section. They had one. It was one small section in the back of the restaurant. It felt like the 1980s.
