Speeking of bookses and sleep-dep, I just finished "To Say Nothing of the Dog" by Connie Willis, which I very much enjoyed. The main character spends much of the book "time-lagged" which is a similar state, except it has one babbling all out of period from too many time jumps with no rest. Very amusing.
