Quick weekend update

(1) Wonderful visit to the suburbs of New York to see beetiger, who was probably my best friend in college and whom I owe an awful lot to, her husband bard_bloom, and their 2½-year-old son projectmothra, who is already reading and is extremely sweet and fun, at least when he’s trying to impress a new friend. No time to do it justice, but we got to see some birds of prey and do lots of reading.

(2) The furniture in my bedroom is finally in the configuration I want it in! I still have a lot of work to do to get it looking civilized, but it looks a lot better. Yay! Now to vaguely start thinking about the rest of the house...

disturbing facts about me:

1) due partially to the awkward placement of my mouse cursor, I initially read "and whom I owe an awful lot to" as "and whom I owe an awful lotto".

2) my second though was "what's an awful lotto?".

3) but my first thought was, "that should be 'and to whom I owe an awful lotto'!".

4) I feel basically okay about all this.
